Since opening in 2017, Palácio Tangará has redefined the luxury hospitality landscape in São Paulo. Located within the 26 acre Burle Marx Park, the hotel offers a rare urban oasis that combines privacy, accessibility and natural beauty, an ideal environment for both business and social gatherings.

At the heart of the property's event offering is Tangará House, an exclusive venue featuring nine versatile event spaces designed to accommodate a wide range of occasions, from executive board meetings and product launches to international conferences, gala dinners and luxury weddings.

The highlight is the elegant Cristal Ballroom, capable of hosting up to 550 guests, complemented by terraces overlooking the park. The combination of classic architecture, natural surroundings and cutting-edge technology creates a distinguished setting for memorable events.

Dedicated event planning teams work closely with organizers to deliver highly personalized experiences, supported by the renowned service standards of Oetker Hotels.

EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCES

Gastronomy is a defining element of the Palácio Tangará experience and an important differentiator for events hosted at the property.

The hotel is home to Tangará Jean-Georges, led by world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, offering innovative cuisine that blends French techniques with Asian influences. Meanwhile, Pateo do Palácio provides a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, featuring signature experiences such as Afternoon Tea, Sunday Brunch and curated live music performances.

These culinary offerings can be integrated into corporate programs, executive dinners, incentive trips and social celebrations, creating memorable experiences beyond the meeting room.

A UNIQUE SETTING IN SÃO PAULO

Few venues in the city can match Palácio Tangará's combination of accessibility and exclusivity. Located within Burle Marx Park, one of São Paulo's most important green spaces, the hotel offers a tranquil environment while remaining close to the city's main business districts.

This distinctive positioning has made Palácio Tangará a preferred choice for companies, associations and international organizations seeking a venue capable of delivering both operational excellence and a memorable guest experience.

Palácio Tangará opened in São Paulo in June 2017, marking a new era for European-owned Oetker Hotels as it expanded into the Americas for the first time. Exceptionally located in the heart of the economic capital of Brazil in the iconic Burle Marx Park, one of the city’s most important public spaces, the prestigious collection’s tropical addition is a revival of 1940’s Brazilian glamour and elegance.

A MASTERPIECE HOTEL

The hotel offers 141 spacious guestrooms, including 59 suites, all with beautiful views overlooking the park. Leading Brazilian interior designers William Simonato, Luis Bick and Patricia Anastassiadis created and designed a truly bespoke concept for each space.

The gastronomic experience at Palácio Tangará is an appealing attraction with the two restaurants open to guests and visitors to the property. Tangará Jean-Georges is the hotel’s fine dining experience led by world renowned Chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The cuisine is innovative and zesty, combining elements of classic French cuisine with Asian touches.

Pateo do Palácio is the casual all day dining restaurant, with a cozy outdoor patio surrounded by the verdant trees of the Burle Marx Park. Led by executive Chef Andre Mendes, the menu includes the Afternoon Tea and the Sunday Brunch, the hottest hotel attraction, that requires booking at least a month in advance. Every day after hours and during happy hour, Pateo do Palácio hosts a series of live music. Guests will delight in the selection of jazz and bossa nova which perfectly accompany the signature drinks menu designed by the head bartender Tiago Pavel, featuring the finest local ingredients.

THE BURLE MARX PARK - A GREEN SANCTUARY CREATED BY LEGENDARY BRAZILIAN LANDSCAPE ARCHITEST

The Burle Marx Park is considered a ‘green sanctuary in Brazil’s bustling metropolis,’ contributing to the improvement of air quality, noise reduction and wildlife preservation in São Paulo. Spanning an impressive 26 acres of lush greenery and clear lagoons, it is home to a vast array of tropical Atlantic plants and exotic bird species. Perhaps its most defining feature is not its wildlife, but rather the signature aesthetic imprinted by the late, great Roberto Burle Marx, the man whose name is synonymous with the art of landscape architecture.

THE HISTORY - REVIVING A ROMANTIC MONUMENT

A spectacular addition to São Paulo’s vibrant hotel scene, Palácio Tangará was built originally as Tangará Ranch in the late 1940’s by extraordinarily wealthy Brazilian Baby Pignatari, as a magnificently romantic gesture for his then-fiancée, princess Ira von Fürstenberg, with whom he was married for nearly three years.

Some of Brazil’s finest creative talents were commissioned for the project, including iconic architect Oscar Niemeyer, beside Roberto Burle Marx himself. Baby chose a peaceful place, amidst the tropically verdant nature, even then a fresh contrast to the fast-growing urban town of São Paulo. As the decade rolled into the fifties, São Paulo was emerging as a modern metropolis and Brazil was influencing the culture of the world with Bossa Nova’s smooth soothing sounds, abstract art at the first biennale outside Venice, and Oscar Niemeyer’s architecture. Meanwhile, Baby Pignatari’s marriage

died, along with the original plans for Tangará Ranch. The property remained untouched for several years until the 1990’s. The gardens however were preserved, and Burle Marx finished the project, which was incorporated into the formed public park. Nearly twenty years since the original Tangará project was abandoned, Oetker Hotels has completed the romantic monument as the group’s first foray into the Americas, and in the center of São Paulo’s thriving contemporary art scene, itself a microcosm of the exciting Brazilian art world.
